It took me quite some time to even notice this sushi joint in Fells Point. It is tucked away by the pier and easy to miss, but the outdoor tables and even the fun inside "floor" tables (yes, in this section shoes are always removed!) make it impossible to forget. The miso soup which no sushi meal can begin without is great; it's not too salty and has delish flavor. The house salad isn't donned with your traditional ginger or peanut dressing, but a zesty, yet authentic vinaigrette we can't help but dip our fingers into long after the greens and salad goodies are gone. Try it on white rice as well, yum!

Upon my most recent visit I ordered the Chesapeake #3 roll, since as of late I've suddenly had a penchant for shrimp tempura things. The roll was the shrimp tempura rolled with cream cheese in seaweed, and covered in tempura flakes on the outside of the rice layer. I specified spicy, so they generously topped mine with what appreaed to be Sri Racha. I was not at all disappointed. My only recommendation would be to add cucumber or for my tough tongue, jalapeno. There just had to be a bit more of added crunch or bite. Then again, I'm always too picky.

My mate ordered to sunomono to begin his meal. It was smaller than anticipated, but our animated, friendly server Amy removed it from the check. Great flavor, just not enough of the elements we hoped for for the price. He got the Spicy Roll Combo, which was spicy tuna, spicy Cali, and spicy Key West rolls. All did not disappoint, though I found them too mild in spice factor. Note: I am immune to capsaicin!

At a total bill of about $50.00, we had more than enough eats, hot green tea, and sake to satisfy and leave with smiles on our faces as we called it an early night. Ask for Amy, she is always a fun, cheerful, and hardworking gal that accomodates and makes the best recommendations. She even has a super delish sushi roll named after her on the menu, and rightly so!
