This place was great! And our server Eddie was the best!

Warning: if you enter the main door, you may be put off by the loud music and dive bar scene, but walk further through and to the left, where you will find a swanky dining room and outdoor patio dining. I am glad we did not leave, because we almost did before we saw the dining room.

The entire staff was extremely friendly, and when I say friendly, it was the perfect balance of accomodating, interesting, and helpful, without the cheesy jokes or annoying over-chattiness. The drinks are strong enough (get the 27-oz size of any drink, it's perfect for dinner!), the food is fresh, exactly as ordered, and the free chips and salsa keep coming, and coming, and coming...without the petty surcharge that most places sneak onto the final bill without warning. My daughter who normally wont eat "foliage" in her tacos said to me, "Mommy, you should pay them $100 dollars. This is the best taco I have ever tasted," as she ate it with lettuce, tomato, and all! The vegetables in my dish were cooked so perfectly, with the right amount of crisp-tender crunch without being raw or soggy. Their willingness to include serranos in my veggie taco was the ultimate icing on my cake.

The only major complaint is the lack of seasoning. I love and appeciate authentic ethnic cuisine, however when I think Mexican, I think zest! I even spoke with a Mexican woman who was eating here and had just moved to the area, and she said the exact same thing about the lack of seasoning. Also, the grilled chicken breast was pretty dry, but had good flavor in the marinade/baste. And lastly, don't bother with the rice. It's reminiscent of cafeteria style or buffet rice. I wasn't at all disappointed that I tossed mine, as the rest of the meal was more than enough to satisfy.

I'd love to try the tres leches cake. If anyone tries it, please tell me how it is. I bet it's delightful.
