December Events in Baltimore

It’s the time of year for a little indulgence, and local restaurants, bars, and organizations are more than happy to provide the opportunity to do just that. Here are a few of our favorite events in the first few weeks of the holiday season.



SoBo Market, December 2, 5 pm


A spinoff from the popular SoBo Cafe, this spot is serving up an alternative to those Thanksgiving leftovers with paired bar snacks from Mobtown Meat Snacks and Comestibles and beer from local Union Craft Brewing.



Downtown Partnership Monument Lighting, December 3, 5 pm


The popular annual event in Mt. Vernon will kick off at 5 pm with food from over 20 local restaurants and food trucks. Free photos with Santa Claus, crafts, and face painting will be sponsored by The Chick-fil-A Inner Harbor at the Kids’ Corner.


Emcees from MIX 106.5 will be on hand with live entertainment from Morgan State University Choir, Baltimore City College Choir, Kristen Toedtman Band, Lethal Ladies of Bliss Step Squad, Orchkids Bucket Drummers and more!


Fireworks will take place at 7:45 pm.



Holiday Cheer, Beer and Fun at the Station North Tool Library, December 4, 5 - 8 pm


Sponsored by Union Craft Brewing, this open house with feature a happy hour with brews from Union Craft, a cookie decorating station and hot cider from Carma's Cafe and free seasonal fruits and veggies.



Shop Till You’re Drunk, December 6, 4 pm


Baltimore Whiskey Company is making holiday shopping a little easier with offers for specials on cocktails for shopping at participating Hampden vendors. For the full list and frequent updates, see their Facebook page at:



Baltimore Brewed Local Beer Tasting, Baltimore Museum of Industry, December 4, 6 - 10 pm


Heavy Seas Beer founder Hugh Sisson will be on hand for discussion during this Heavy Seas beer tasting with food pairings from Mother’s Federal Hill Grille.

Highlandtown Merry Mixer, December 4, 5-11 pm


Lights, live jazz, trains and a tree lighting ceremony, as well as drink specials at local watering holes, will all be on tap for this event. Grab a map of participating locations at Baltimore Threadquarters at 518 South Conkling Street.



Old Tyme Christmas in Fell’s Point, December 5, 9 am


Featuring holiday crafts, foods and drinks the festival also offers live music and entertainment all day.

Federal Hill’s Festive Flavors, December 8, 6 - 10 pm


Meeting at 6 pm at Cross Street Market, this progressive food and drink tour takes participants to 7 different venues around Federal Hill.


Tickets are $55 and can be bought at



Baltimore Christmas Village at West Shore Park, Until December 27 (closed Tuesdays Dec 1, 8 & 15 and Dec 25), Sun. - Thur. 11am - 7pm, Fri. - Sat. 11am - 8pm


Visit the German-themed village to purchase gifts from vendors, indulge in German beers and mulled wine, or nosh on the likes of schnitzel, cheeses, bratwurst and other German themed food.


Free weekday admission, December 5th/6th: $1 admission on Dollar-or-Less Days, December 12th/13th & 19th/20th & 26th/27th: $5 admission for adults (19 yrs and up), $3 for children (3-18yrs), Toddlers free (under 3), Purchase of a Holiday Pass allows visitors to come back for no additional admission during the 2015 season.
