Celebrating July 4th, Baltimore Style!

Jennifer Waldera

If, like us, you love celebrating the 4th of July (but sometimes don’t so much love cleaning up after the party) this list is for you. We’ve rounded up a handful of our favorite picks to grab dinner (and maybe some drinks) on July 4th where you can also take in the fireworks. Happy 4th of July!

Boathouse Canton

This waterside bar and restaurant features plenty of outside dining, including a loungy patio that is perfect for grazing on Chesapeake-inspired appetizers and hearty sandwiches while sipping suds or creative cocktails. Even when seats are unavailable outside, the expansive interior has plenty of seating with waterviews from nearly every table and the bar.

Wit and Wisdom

Housed in the Four Seasons, Wit and Wisdom’s outdoor patio sports one of the most impressive views of Baltimore’s fireworks. Chef Zack Mills will be creating a variety of food options on the fourth to enjoy to the backdrop of live entertainment. Tickets (which include unlimited food, non-alcoholic beverages, valet parking, and a reserved seat unless otherwise noted) are $125 for adults, $45 for children, $95 for standing room only. (6-9:30 pm)

Waterfront Kitchen

Dishes like Smoked MD Corn Bisque topped with jumbo lump crabmeat and Seared Warshore Scallops aside summer squash, cherry tomatoes, and basil pesto are the kind of signature dishes coming from the kitchen at Fell’s Point’s Waterfront Kitchen. With one of the largest outdoor dining spots in Baltimore, their deck overlooking the water offers an expansive view of nearly all of Baltimore’s waterfront.

Rusty Scupper

Each year, Rusty Scupper hosts a traditional all-you-can-eat crab buffet on July 4th - what says “Baltimore” more than that?

Diners can enjoy not only all-you-can-eat crabs but also fried chicken, salads, fruit, hot dogs, and hamburgers as well $3 Heinekens and $5 Scupper Sunsets (32 oz bucket with: Malibu Original Coconut Rum, Malibu Passion Fruit Rum, peach schnapps, Triple Sec, orange juice, pineapple juice and a splash of grenadine).

Tickets are $99 for adults, $49 for children (plus 20% service charge and 6% tax). To make a reservation, call 410-727-3678.

Little Havana

Nosh on paella, fish tacos or a cubano and sip on mojitos or sangria at this humble waterfront mainstay on Key Highway. Perfect for watching fireworks, we’re sure getting early will be a must to enjoy the evening.

National Aquarium

This year, the National Aquarium is hosting a family-friendly event that includes admission to the Aquarium, crafts and face painting for the children, live entertainment, and, of course, the opportunity to view the fireworks from the pier from 7 - 10 pm.

Tickets can also be upgraded to include a buffet featuring Angus beef burgers, all-natural hot dogs, BBQ chicken breasts, grilled portobello mushrooms, and more. Beer and wine will also available for purchase.

Tickets for the Pier Party are $25 for members and $60 for non-members.

Tickets for the Pier Party and BBQ Buffet are $45 for members and $80 for non-members.

All guests ages 3 and up must have a ticket to enter. Reservations can be made online or by calling 410-659-4230.

Top of The World Observation Level Picnic

From 7:30 - 10 pm, the Top of the World Observation Level will be hosting Picnic at the Top, a family friendly event offering food, non-alcoholic drinks, children’s activities, and a photo booth, all to the backdrop of music from a live DJ. 27 floors above the Inner Harbor, this promises to be one of the most spectacular views of the fireworks within the city.

Tickets are $50 for adults and $25 for children. To purchase tickets for Picnic at the Top, call 410-837-VIEW (8439).
