Baltimore Food News You Can Use: February Edition

Carrie Murphy

Since I haven't given you an edition of my food news roundup in a few weeks, I thought we were due. Here's all the news that's fit to print (and eat) in the Baltimore area this month.

  • After closing due to a fire in 2010, My Thai has reopened in Fells Point. I'm always in favor of more Thai food in Baltimore, so who's making the reservations? Count me in! via City Paper

  • Open Table has named Baltimore the 17th most romantic city. Thoughts? We know Old Bay and Natty Boh aren't necessarily up there with candles and chocolates, but we'd like to think we're a little more suited to love than a 17th-place spot. via Open Table

  • Check out this great Q-and-A with Dangerously Delicious Pies' owner Rodney Henry via The Sun

  • Publishing House Globe Pequot has just published an eating guide to Charm City, Food Lover's Guide To Baltimore. Would you pick up a copy? via Globe Pequot

  • The restaurant industry is growing, says the Baltimore Business Journal. Mainly in the snack bar and fast food sector, but it's something, right? via The Baltimore Business Journal

  • Did you catch this Serious Eats article pitting Baltimore food against San Francisco food? I think it was pretty biased, but at least the Ravens won the Super Bowl fair and square. via Serious Eats

  • There are several new restaurants (including a Nando's Peri-Peri) slated to join the new Towson Square development in downtown Towson. via Bmore Media

  • The Guinness Book of World Records has certified that Handy's of Salisbury, did in fact make the world's largest crabcake last summer at the Maryland State Fair. You know, just in case that was keeping you up at night. via Baltimore magazine's In Good Taste blog
