Looking for a traditional Thanksgiving feast? My choice for a memorable holiday dinner is --The Prime Rib at 1101 North Calvert Street. Dinner will include a number of tasty choices including Maine lobster bisque, roasted turkey with veggies including creamed spinach and homemade cranberry sauce, pecan pie --and more. The cost for adults is $39.95--Children under 12--$17.95 The regular dinner menu is also available as is a special oyster menu including half-shells, Rockefellers, Merritts, Casinos and Chesapeakes. That's a whole lotta oysters. I don't know about you but this sounds MUCH better than what MY family puts together---uh-no offense Mom. They're also open Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. And-if any ole time you feel like enjoying something special for a great price--they're offering a special menu in celebration of their 45th anniversary-dinner for $45. Choose from entrees--prime rib (of course), salmon or imperial crab-sides and salads too. Thanks to General Manager David Derewicz for the heads up re what's happening at "The Rib." Another great idea for your holiday (any holiday) table-is handcrafted chocolates from Haute Cocoa. Choose from an array of great table "settings. A chocolate wine cork or even a baby Jesus--they can customize pretty much anything you want. And-they have an AMAZING "Haute Bar"-a presentation of hundreds of chocolates-ala a cookie table at Italian weddings. Your guests will be talking about this for years to come. Call 443-927-7779 or go to HauteCocoa.net.

Here's your TEE-HEE for the day. An Alaskan original created more than 20 years ago at the Peanut Farm in Anchorage, this layered cocktail is named for the sound you'll make after drinking one. This recipe was featured as part of Chowhounds New Year's Eve Drinks Around the World story. It's called a Duck Fart.

  • Makes: 1 drink.
  • Ingredients:
1 ounce Kahlúa, 1 ounce Baileys Irish Cream,
1/2 ounce Crown Royal Whisky.
  • Instructions: Pour Kahlúa into a 3-ounce shot glass. Using the convex side of a bar spoon, slowly pour Baileys over the Kahlúa, making sure not to disturb it, to create a layered effect. Using the same technique, layer the Crown Royal over the Baileys.
