BALTIMORE COUNTY RESTAURANT WEEK EXTENDED

This year's inaugural county restaurant week has been such a humongous success-that the event is being extended through September 5 for all of the restaurants except the Artful Gourmet. (Whassup witdat?) The restaurants have been rocking out every day and diners are having a blast. I visited the Milton Inn and the place was hopping. Did I mention the Shrimp and scallop scampi? So nice to enjoy the ART of cooking from owner/executive chef extraordinaire - Brian Boston. Boston is now "famous" for creating the county restaurant week-after the city wouldn't allow him to participate in theirs. Kudos to Mr. B. The other restaurants must be loving you big time.

DINE OUT FOR ROSES

On Sunday, Aug. 29, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Looney's Pub North (312 South Main St.) in Bel Air will hold a Dine Out event to help the non-profit Rose of Sharon Equestrian School, Inc. (ROSES) raise funds needed for the completion of an all-season riding arena. The bar/restaurant will give ROSES 10 percent of the proceeds from all checks when customers present an event flyer, along with their payment. Customers can pick up a flyer when they are seated at the restaurant or obtain it in advance by contacting ROSES at roses@iximd.com.  ROSES offers therapeutic horsemanship programs for people with disabilities. It's situated on 12 acres of farmland next to Gunpowder State Park in Glen Arm and serves students from surrounding areas. But a of people that need help are still on a waiting list. So--ROSES has begun construction of a $365,000 all-season, indoor riding arena. They've raised one-third of the necessary funds-now they need your help.

BALTIMORE PARTY IN THE PARK

The best party in town rocks Padonia Park in Cockeysville on October 2. The event showcases Grammy nominated band "Milkshake" and national recording artists "The Bridge. Fabulous Food..SO not your typical festival fare-crafts, original art, clothing and more. There are still a few spots left for craft vendors. Go to BaltimorePartyinthePark.com-check out the event and see the vendor applications. And people-PUT THIS ONE ON YOUR CALENDARS!

HMMMMM

Received a message that The Point in Fells Point has a disconnected phone and the lights are out. And this is during restaurant week. Doesn't sound promising does it? It's only been open since May...
