2010 Chocolate Affair Recap
The Sweetest Night in Town
Last night Baltimore Eats attended the 19th Annual Chocolate Affair at M & T Bank Stadium. The event was presented by CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield to benefit Health Care for the Homeless. In attendance were 33 Baltimore Celebrity Judges, Honorary Chair and Baltimore Orioles Legend Rick Dempsey, and a few thousand Baltimore chocoholics.
There were 9 total awards given out. We have the list of winners for you.
Tastiest Chocolate Treat: Bistro Brownies who showcased their Mochaccino and German Chocolate Brownies.
Tastiest Non-Chocolate Treat: Belmont Manor House & Conference Center who served a Seared Ahi Tuna on a Crispy Wonton with a Wasabi Glaze.
Best Candy Piece: Linwoods Restaurant and Catering won with their Pecan Tart Turtle Bar.
Best Booth Display: Chef’s Expressions who were swamped all night with people trying to get their Morello Cherry Cheesecake Lollipops, Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Mousse and my favorite, the Hazelnut Chocolate Shake.
Best Visual Presentation of Food: InterContinental Harbor Court who served up loads of their White and Dark Chocolate Mousse in a squared shot glass complete with its own chocolate spoon.
Most Creative Use of Chocolate: Chesapeake Food Works made Chocolate Hazelnut Mole Served over Wild Mushroom Ravioli.
Best Beverage: Patron who made a cocktail with their XO Café, Stoli Vanilla and Frangelica that was amazing.
Best New Vendor: This was a tie between Crush and the InterContinental Harbor Court.
One last vendor worth mentioning was Tremont Hotel who was serving up a “Valentine’s Day Breakfast” which included chocolate covered bacon. It was a great night and we were glad to be a part of it.
