Max's Empanadas IS OPEN!

 Max’s Empanadas is OPEN for business!   What used to house Il Scalino, is now home to this new addition, in Little Italy. It’s another new favorite lunch spot.  I was super-excited to see this place, not only because Max is a longtime friend, but I hadn’t had one of these delicious empanadas in a while.  Max’s was my breakfast, every Sunday morning, at the Owings Mills Farmer’s market, this summer.  It hit the spot, too! I ordered one chicken and one beef, but other choices are Ham and Cheese, spinach and mixed vegetables. They also offer salads and sides, like black bean hummus and Argentinean Potatoes~ those I’ll have to try next time!  He didn’t forget dessert.  Cookies, tarts and cakes are accounted for, too!  Things like Lemon Ricotta Tart and Zucchini Tea Cake.      

 

 The doors opened, at Max’s Empanadas, for the first time, today.  The place is clean and quaint.  Place your order at the counter and then head back to the seating area.  There are 8 seats at a long bar table, along the wall and then 10 seats, a little further back.  The shelves at the deli counter are being stocked with wines from Argentina (who didn’t know that?) and all kinds of food items, native to that region of South America, Max’s homeland.  Hours are Monday-Thursday, 9am-7pm; Friday and Saturday till 1:30am, so you can get your late night snacks before heading home. 

 

They are closed on Sundays. They also have free wifi, so I’ll know where I’ll be renting some space, when I need a break from the office.  Go check this joint out.  It will be your new favorite, too.
